The Tale of 2 Pairs of Earplugs
A couple weeks ago it was sunny and hot. And at night it was dark and hot. So we opted to have the windows open at night. Unfortunately the window is located at the front of the house where all the traffic noise is. So it can get pretty loud at night, and distracting when you are trying to fall asleep. In order to circumvent this problem I put in earplugs... and you would not believe how much they did the job. Most of the background noise was cancelled out and I fell asleep much more expediently.
The trouble with these earplugs is that they don't necessarily stay in. Over the course of the night when one moves around in one's sleep there is a chance that they could fall out. When that happens in the middle of the night it's not a huge deal because by that time the traffic's died downand you can get back to sleep, right?
Well. I woke up one morning and noticed that one of my earplugs had fallen out... but couldn't find where it was. Not on the pillow, not under the pillow, not on the side of the bed, not under the bed. Hmm. Oh well, good thing I had an extra pair.
A couple of nights later I put in the earplugs again, and again one of them fell out. Except semi-unconsciously I had it in my hand and put it in my mouth as if to eat it... but then I realized it was not actually food so I put it on the night table and went back to sleep. Weird right? Actually kind of messed up. But a thought occurred to me. Perhaps a couple nights before when I lost the other earplug, I had actually eaten it in my sleep! How does that happen??... and... ewwwwww!
As luck would have it I found the missing earplug so I didn't eat it after all but if I had... I probably wouldn't have written a ridiculous blog post about it. Heh.

Call for ideas
Well since you have all been complaining that I don’t post enough, I’m throwing the torch to you: give me some ideas on what to write about. Cuz this is all I have at the mo: - An odd way to lose an earplug
- Making fun of the guy who didn’t know what pommes puree was, even though he’s been in the ‘industry’ for years
Unfortunately I don’t have any crazy stories about being wined and dined and almost 69’d by some crazy Italians.
